Chair and Founder

Kim McManus is a speaker, world traveler, wife, and mother who has served in the arenas of education and poverty for over 30 years. She is passionate about connecting those in need with solutions that work, whether it be creating a path to education through scholarships, providing foster youth with the tools they need to create a better future, or giving refugees the opportunity to pursue their dreams through learning.

McManus is uniquely qualified to lead MEI, as she grew up in poverty and was raised in foster care. Her work is a direct result of her passion to give others access to education and life skills that weren’t provided to her.

She is a graduate of Gardner Webb University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and has a Masters of Divinity degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
